Driven! The 1,064-HP Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 Is Patently Absurd
1,000-plus hp, $175,000: Is the most powerful production Corvette of all time the handful you might expect?.
Mac Morrison : Writer | William Walker : Photographer | May 30, 2025
Make no mistake, COTA is a satisfyingly special place to drive any quick and capable car, but when Chevrolet told us it was holding the official first drive event for the 2025 Corvette ZR1 at the flowing 3.41-mile, 20-turn Texas home of the Formula 1 United States Grand Prix? From the Driver’s Seat – June 2024
Marcia and I look forward to new adventures and experiences with the membership. I believe that the membership of the Club will have fun on the runs to places that we haven’t been before. In the past we have gone as far North as Monterey, as far East as Bowling Green, and as far South as San Diego.
I believe the new Board of the Santa Clarita Valley Corvette Club will have fun doing whatever is planned for the Club by Bob Haas the Activities Coordinator. He has tremendous enthusiasm and Club spirit! Marcia will be assisting Bob Haas with Activities. Bob Haas did a great job with the Picnic on June 15th; the food was especially good and every had a good time.
Both Marcia and I have been members of the Santa Clarita Valley Corvette Club for over fifteen years. I didn’t know anything about Corvettes when we started, but over time with the help of members of the Club I learned about Corvettes. That is the great thing about the Club there’s always a member ready to help others. I have enjoyed this comradery over the years.
I want to thank all the members that stepped up to join the Santa Clarita Valley Corvette Club Board. At the same time, I must thank the departing members of the Board for the great job they did. It’s essential that there is rotation of Club Officers and Board Members going forward.
It must be recognized by the membership that Mike and Judy Woodings did an exemplary job of keeping the Club on track while we all felt the ravages of Covid-19. Many Clubs failed across the country during that time. The Santa Clarita Valley Corvette Club is stronger than ever! I wish to give a special thanks to Mike Woodings as President and Judy Woodings as Membership chair.
